We recommend a 12V rechargeable Lithium Ion battery pack and adapter cable (sold as a set on this site), or a 3S LiPo battery with XT60 plug (3200 mAh minimum recommended-the higher the mAh number the longer your lights will last) and charger combo of your choice. A LiPo battery bag is included in all kits for safe charging/use/storage. NOTE: If using a LiPo battery, you must ONLY USE 3S BATTERIES WITH YOUR LIGHT KIT.
Charge the battery while turned off (the “O” will be pressed down, and the “I” will be raised up) with the included wall charger. Always leave the battery in the off position when lights are not in use.
The battery has a light indicator showing charge levels 1-5. When the unit has finished charging, all 5 lights on the battery will be illuminated green and the wall plug light will change from red to green.
Battery will last approx. 4+ hours on a full charge. Battery will automatically turn off if the power gets too low. Recharge before this happens to extend the life of the battery.
It is recommended to unplug the lighting control module from the battery when it is not in use. Always charge/use/store battery in a LiPo battery bag and never charge unattended. Safely recycle or dispose of dead, damaged, or puffed battery. Refer to charger and battery manufacturer instructions for specific information. The battery will arrive partially charged. Fully charge before use. Always charge/use/store battery in battery bag and never charge unattended. Plug USB cable into a wall charger, then plug both battery leads snugly into charger as shown (wire colors may vary). The balance lead on the left will have the 4 slots facing up as shown. There are 5 pins in the charger. When you plug in the balance lead the right pin will not be used.
A small amount of power is drawn when battery is plugged in, even when the lights are sleeping or appear off. Unplug by grasping the battery plug, not the wires. A 5200mAh battery will last approx. 3 hours and have 30% power remaining. At this point it must be recharged or you risk damaging the battery. If your lights start to look dim or colors display incorrectly, you have gone past this point and need to turn off your lights as soon as safely possible.
Always unplug the battery when it is not in use. Always charge/use/store battery in a LiPo battery bag and never charge unattended. Safely recycle or dispose of dead, damaged, or puffed battery.
