Light kits can be operated with the push button control handle connected to the lighting control unit (the black rectangle with a squirrel on it), or with your phone or computer.
CONTROL HANDLE FUNCTIONS
To turn lights on, plug fully charged battery into the lighting control unit.
To wake from asleep:
LOGGING IN
From a mobile device: To log in, plug in a battery to power on the lighting control unit. Use your device to connect wirelessly to the network “SecretSquirrel.” Use the password and PIN provided in the instructions that came with your light kit. A WLED interface will automatically load after connecting to the SecretSquirrel network.
From a computer: To log in, plug in a battery to power on the lighting control unit. Go to Wi-Fi connections on your computer and connect to the wireless network “SecretSquirrel.” After several seconds a web browser window will open. In the web browser, go to "squirrel.local" or "4.3.2.1". If required, use the password and PIN provided in the instructions that came with your light kit.
ONCE YOU ARE LOGGED IN TO SECRET SQUIRREL
Use the WLED app to control the lights using the "Presets" menu. Tapping individual presets 1-11 will load them. Tapping preset 249 will start a playlist of all 11 presets with each playing for 15 seconds. Tapping preset 248 BTN_DBL_PWR puts the lights to sleep (same as the double press on the handle button). Tapping 250 BTN_SHRT_INC scrolls through the 11 preset patterns (same as a short press on the handle button--this function is more useful with the actual handle than the app).
PRESET PATTERNS
You may change any of the presets from 1-11 to use different patterns or color combinations. First use the instructions above to wirelessly connect to your unit using a mobile device or computer. Then, view the video below for step-by-step information.
Only change presets 1-11. Do not alter CODING sections 248, 249, 250 or you will disable your push button functionality.
Before making any changes, save a backup of the presets as instructed in the video below. If you have any trouble, restore the backup file.
Do not perform a factory reset or you will permanently lose connection to the unit.
Note: You can also find a wealth of information by visiting the WLED Wiki at https://github.com/Aircoookie/WLED/wikiAdvanced. Features like using one app to control multiple SkyHalo units are available. I plan on producing a video about this in the future, but in the meantime if this is something you need, google "WLED sync" to learn more about this option.
